Meet Chachie!

Handsome Chachi is about 3 years old and a sweet pittie mix who weighs about 45-50 pounds. He is up to date with vaccines, and neutered. Chachi is very playful and loves life. He loves to chase tennis balls and other toys! There really isn’t any way that you can’t smile when you are around Chachi. He is just a goofy, fun-loving boy. He is very people friendly and fine with other dogs, but no cats for him. He would love a home with Joanie ( is in one of the pictures) but would adjust to being in a home with another dog and a family that loved him. Chachi is kennel trained, and house trained but he might have an occasional accident. Having a forever home would possibly help with this. He really is a sweetheart and he’s looking forward to finding his forever family.

In Memory of

I wish I had worthy words for this beautiful boy & the way it feels to lose him, but I just don’t right now. 😭 All I seem to be able to do so far is cry.

He came to the Abbey in Oct of 2013 & he became the most loving, precious boy through the years. He brought joy to everyone he met & completely lived up to his name. Our hearts will never be the same.
We can’t thank y’all enough for helping give him the best life the abbey could. To everyone who helped him enjoy life & bought him doggy day care days & helped transport him, helped with his yearly shots/meds, sponsored his baths, & sent him love in any way—- THANK YOU.
Our hearts are hurting because we know his big hugs & huge smiles are now only in our memories.
He is a precious soul, hopefully running & playing with all the other pups in heaven now—- but goodness it hurts to miss him. 💔We love you so much, Semper.

Beautiful Trudy is likely a Cane Corso mix. She is fairly young (1.5 years) and about 70 lbs. She is heart worm negative, spayed, up to date on shots, and house trained. She so gorgeous grey brindle and has a wonderful coat.

Trudy has yet to meet a dog that she doesn’t like, including puppies. She loves to play with other dogs and would be best in a household with another dog companion. She is just a wonderful dog!

Trudy is fairly high energy and would do best in an active household. Take her running, play ball with her, and you won’t be able to wipe the smile off her face. She has also been through 6 weeks of obedience training, so she will walk nicely on a leash.

Trudy had a fairly traumatic start to her life, being left abandoned in a shed. She didn’t know who to trust, so she can take a little bit to warm up to strangers. But once you are her friend, she loves you. She has been fine around older children. Very young children and cats are unknown.

Meet Camilla! This 1 1/2 yr old red beauty is nothing but grateful for being rescued from life on a chain. We think she is a shepherd mix. Camilla is an eternal optimist -- full of life and joy. She 's always smiling. You can't help but smile too around her. She loves her people and to snuggle up with them. She’s always smiling. You can't help but smile too around her. She loves her people and to snuggle up with them, She’s always smiling. You can't help but smile too around her. She loves her people and to snuggle up with them. is a perfect medium size (35-40 lbs) and gets along well with other dogs including puppies. She’d love to be with a family and a canine friend. While she isn’t too particular, she’s much prefer to spend her time with a laid back female or any male canine. Cats are unknown. She is UTD on shots and spayed. She’d be an excellent companion for an active household. She is very athletic and would probably excel at dog sports. She loves chasing toys now that she is free and knows what they are. She is kennel trained and house training is being worked on. It’s something as an adoptee you’d have to continue. She is very playful and the more involved the better! We go through interview, application, and home visit. We are all about a great fit.

Hi this is Royal

From rags to riches! This sweet boy is looking for his forever home. His foster mom has said that he is the perfect gentleman. And he was an amazing house guest for another lady.

Looks, charm, personality -- he has it all. He loves to cuddle, loves petting, loves to be loved. He's really mellow and laid back too, although he has a cute little bounce when he gets excited to see you. He’s fine exploring the yard on his own or going for a walk.

3-4 years old, house trained, neutered, utd, heartworm negative. 70 lb hound mix. Great with female dogs. Probably due to his former street life, he is male dog selective (he prefers smaller male dogs). Fine with kids. He even has passed his cat test! He has so much going for him!

Joanie is about 5 yrs old, spayed, up to date with vaccines, and a lab mix. She weighs about 45-50 pounds. Her love is Chachi. We would love for them to be adopted together, but Joanie would likely be content as an only dog. She needs a home without other dogs, unless it is Chachi, and no cats for her. Joanie is 100% a people person – she loves to lay in your lap, give kisses, and be petted. She loves to go for walks and car rides with visits to the pet store. She is one of the easiest dogs that we have because she is so mellow and really just enjoys the simple things in life. You can sit outside with her, tell her all your troubles from the day and all your worries will just melt away. She is house trained and kennel trained. Joanie is a very special, affectionate gal and we really want to find the perfect home for her.

Meet pretty girl Little Mimsy! She is adorable 2 yr old small Lab mix that weighs about 25 pounds. She is spayed, and up to date with vaccines. Mimsy is truly the sweetest girl ever who loves people. She’s a very submissive girl. She came into our rescue with 3 puppies and was the best mom. She loves kids. She gets along great with all our other dogs and we do not expect there would to be an issue with kitties. She just needs a chance with a loving person or persons. She is a huge fan of belly rubs and squeaky toys. Her foster family describes her as a wonderful cuddler and absolute sweetheart. House training is being worked on, but she is kennel trained. She’s a beauty sporting her new pretty harness!

Captain Jack

Captain Jack is a very special boy who was rescued with his friend, Elizabeth Swann. Jack is very friendly and outgoing with people. He is always smiling. He loves to chase tennis balls and play with other dogs. He is curious about cats, but should be fine in a home with a cat that is used to dogs. Jack is on the smaller side at only 40 lbs and would love to be your personal lap baby. What makes Captain Jack unique is that he survived for 2 years with only 3 feet! He has all of his third leg, but just a little nub for his foot. It certainly doesn’t slow him down! We will be fitting him with a prosthetic foot and neither his home nor him will be able to tell the difference. Jack is up to date on shots, neutered, and has completed heartworm treatment.

Ringo is a very loyal friend and companion – he was living on the streets with his best friend who was hit by a car and he would not leave him. Ringo has that same love and devotion for the people in his life. He is referred to as a “love bug”, a “total love”, and “absolutely adorable”. He wiggles with excitement when he meets new friends. He really is a gem of a dog and is doing well in his foster home with crate training. He is only about a year old, neutered, up to date on shots and heartworm negative! He is 50-55 lbs, gets along with other dogs and loves cats. He has not been around kids, but there should not be any trouble with how sweet he is.

Meet Elizabeth! This gorgeous girl is about 1 to 1 1/2 years old. She is an American Staffordshire Terrier who is a happy girl. Elizabeth is very fond of kiddos. We call her a pocket pittie because she is small weighing in at 35-45 pounds. She’s heart worm negative . Yay! Elizabeth is just adorable! She’s quite the little ham and loves to pose.and smile.. Our volunteers love her because she has such a great personality. She is dog and kitty friendly. She is very people and kiddos friendly. She’d love a family of her own. House training is being worked on. She has an occasional accident so she’ll need some continued help. She such a sweetheart!

We go through interview, application, and home visit process. A fence is needed. We are all about a great fit.
